Put together and teaching a SQL 101 class for 8 of my co-workers at OU. It’s funny, because some of the things we take for granted as seasoned DBA’s is completely foreign to these new students who have almost zero experience with Oracle. These classes are in one hour sessions spread over 7 weeks with our 1st class last Friday…. we were supposed to go over simple things…. what’s a row? what’s a column? explaining primary and foreign keys and even though I had sent pre-requisites before the 1st class started… well…. you can guess.
Silly silly new instructor…. we spent the 1st class getting a database installed and explaining other things as, again, we take for granted. Regardless, it was a good learning experience for me and I’ll be a bit more prepared.
